Kaleidoscope

For this assignment, I had to choose a kaleidoscope coloring book picture online and had to fill it with many colors and designs. So this is how it turned out! I really enjoyed this project, because it reminded me of the zendoodles that I did in sixth grade. I choose to use shades of blue and make it kind of "wintery," because it is December.

Where's Waldo

For this assignment, we were asked to make a collage out of many, many, many pictures. It took 227 layers to be exact! In that collage, we had to hide a picture of ourselves, like the actual Where's Waldo book. So, try to find the picture of me below!  HINT: I like goats

Albrecht Durer Assignment

Here is my Albrecht Durer assignment! Albrecht Durer was a German painter, printmaker, mathematician, engraver, and theorist in the late 1400s and the early 1500s. He was very famous for his paintings, but most importantly, for his woodcut prints. For this assignment, I was asked to choose an animal and add textures and patterns. So here's my Albrecht Durer inspired sloth!

Edward Gorey

This is my Edward Gorey assignment! This was based on Edward's very morbid and macabre  Gashlycrumb Tinies Alphabet book. This book was about how different kids died, in alphabetical order of names. On a happier note, this assignment, I thought, allowed me to show more of my funny and unique side. I wish that this project could've lasted a little longer because it was so much fun! Here is a link to the Gashlycrumb Tinies Alphabet book:  http://www.brainpickings.org/2011/01/19/edward-gorey-the-gashlycrumb-tinies/

Colonial Pop Art Project

So, a few Fridays ago, we had a Freaky Friday Day, where some of the teachers switched classes. For digital art, my teacher, Mrs. Forrest switched with Mrs. Zangara, an 8th-grade history teacher. During that class, we learned the history of pop art, which is making a very simple, ordinary thing and making it special and unique. I decided to take a barrel and a goat (my favorite animal) and make it awesome using Photoshop!

Celebrity Coloring Book Page

Here is my celebrity coloring book page of Steve Carell or better known as Michael Scott from The Office. I really like The Office and thought it would be kind of cool to base this assignment on it. So for all you Office lovers, feel free to print out and color this.

Cartoon Yourself

Here is the Cartoon Yourself project! In short, I took a picture of myself and used Photoshop to trace all my features. From there, I filled everything in with color and blended it to look realistic. For me, the hardest part to complete was my nose; It took almost an entire class! I also decided to change my shirt to something that really speaks to me.  Lastly, I put in a galaxy for the background. This project was pretty difficult, but in the end, I am proud of how it turned out. Here was the original picture of me......

Cartoon Masterpiece: The Persistence of Memory

For the Cartoon Masterpiece project, I chose The Persistence of Memory. This was painted by Salvador Dali in 1931. Here is the original.... To change this very interesting painting up a bit, I decided to make it Alice and Wonderland themed. To do this, I added the Cheshire Cat and the White Rabbit (because of all the clocks). So here it is! Hope you enjoy.

The Scream

Here is the original "The Scream", painted by Edvard Munch in 1893.  This is my Photoshoped version of "The Scream". I started by tracing all of the original painting's features and elements. From there I filled each section with different colors and gradients. While working on this project, I tried out many new Photoshop tools and finally found, what I think looks right! The second part to this assignment was putting my face and hands into my digital Scream. I have to be honest and say that it took a lot of redos, but it was totally worth it. Overall, this entire project starring "The Scream" was super exciting and fun to recreate!

Mona Lisa

Once upon a time, there was a woman named Mona Lisa, who didn't have any eyebrows and who hated wearing all those fancy clothes (I mean, look at her smile; she's not happy). 514 years after she was painted on a canvas (1503), she was put into Photoshop and found her true self: Eating at the burger shop with some ketchup and mustard. In this Mona Lisa, I started with trace all of her features. After tracing, I replaced her old dress, with a jacket, using the Photoshop fill tool. Additionally, I put in a new background and added a tablecloth for the restaurant.  I also added one of my favorite art pieces I made in 6th grade of ketchup and mustard. This involved a lot of .JPEGs and hard work, but in the end it was really worth it. I have really enjoyed this project, because I got to show you what Mona Lisa should be like.
